HMS Albion is the 9th Royal Naval ship to bear this name and was the first in the new class of Landing Platform Docks. HMS Albion was built at Barrow in Furness and was launched in March 2001 by HRH The Princess Royal. She was commissioned in June 2003 and declared fully operational in April 2004.
She is affiliated to the City of Chester, and very proud of her 4 battle honours ranging from Algiers 1816 to the Dardanelles 1915.
