BILLY WELLS, halfback. Another player acquired by Steelers in trade during training season, coming to Pittsburgh from Washington... has played spectacular football all year. With Washington as rookie in 1954, Wells led team in yards gained rushing with 516 for a 5.2 average and set a Redskin record by running 88 yards from scrimmage... Wells also is an ex-Michigan Stater and was Spartans' leading ground gainer in victory over U.C.L.A. in Rose Bowl.
ERNIE STAUTNER, has been a standout for seven consecutive seasons... selected outstanding player in last year's All-Pro game... played at Boston College... born in Bavaria, Germany... but now lives in Lake Placid, N. Y., where he owns and operates a drive-in theatre... has been selected to the All-Pro team many times.
BILL McCLUNG, a third year man who plays both ways... spends most of his time with the defensive unit... great speed for a big fellow... went to Florida A & M... but gained his reputation in Army football... operates an auto repair shop during the off-season... lives in Pittsburgh.
